Makita UK launched 40V Max XGT® products from June 2020. The series answers the ongoing change in the industry, in which battery technology replaces other power sources in increasingly larger machines and devices. The goal of the XGT series is not only to provide a genuine solution to the growing power demands but also continue fulfilling Makita’s vision of a cordless future.
Makita strives to serve its customers in the best possible way and with the best possible selection. Our CXT® series is great for those looking for a light and compact machine while LXT® is the industry choice when looking for a multi-purpose platform with a vast choice of 18v compatible machines. With the XGT® series we bring a new choice for those looking for raw power that is required for the toughest jobs.
First products published are: Recipro Saw, Impact Driver, Circular Saw, Combi Drill-Driver, four Angle Grinders and two SDS-Plus Rotary Hammers with more products on their way for 2020. Compared to their predecessors, the machines offer more power, durability and faster charging.
The range features smart technology, with which the machine and the battery communicate between each other digitally to achieve optimal performance. It also helps the machines to adapt to future technological advancements.
XGT® brings new features to cordless machines. For example, the impact driver’s unbelievable maximum torque of 220 Nm and the electronic clutch system that has been designed within the XGT drills. The drills also feature a torque limiter which turns the motor off if the tool is suddenly forced to lock preventing wrist sprain and possible injury.
The new XGT® series will function and grow alongside the industry leading 18V LXT® series. With the ADP10 Adaptor, the XGT® charger can also charge 18v LXT® batteries in record time, which work with over 200 products. In the future there will be more compatible devices, as Makita’s global focus will continue to be developing machines which make working easier for its customers.
