Diamond Core Percussion Drill

One of the trickiest jobs is drilling large diameter holes to create openings for pipework, fans and flues. Therefore, our ‘8406’ 13mm Dry Diamond Core Percussion Drill is an invaluable addition to any plumber’s tool kit. This powerful solution is ideal for effortlessly creating clean-cut, smooth holes in tile, ferroconcrete, marble, brick and more when paired with the correct diamond core accessories. The 8406 is suitable for a diamond core bit up to 150mm in diameter. The machine has a percussion action that delivers an impressive impact rate of 22,500 blows per minute, meaning it can also drill pilot holes for a guide rod to ensure that holes are cut cleanly and concentrically. To protect users during operation, the 8406, which weighs just 3.7kg, features a torque limiter and side handle to reduce the risk of injury if the core bit snags in the material.

 

M-Class Dust Extractor

When drilling or cutting masonry materials, and especially when dry diamond core drilling, a M-Class Dust Extractor should always be used. The Respirable Crystalline Silica (RCS) produced can have serious effects on health with prolonged or frequent exposure causing chronic respiratory issues such as Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and Silicosis. M-Class extraction is the minimum legal requirement and will not only protect the user and others working within the area but will also keep the work area free of dust, meaning less clean-up. At Makita we have a range of M-Class extractors with capacities from 22 litres to 42 litres. For example, the compact VC2211MX1 22-litre dust extractor is ideal for plumbers’ requirements and also includes power take-off to streamline the operation of the tool and extractor.

 

Angle Drill

We know that the nature of the work means that plumbers often have to deal with tight or awkward spaces, for which a conventional in-line drill is just not suitable. In these situations, there is no substitute for a high quality angle drill. Our DA001G XGT 40VMax Brushless Angle Drill delivers a no-load speed of up to 1,500rpm and a maximum torque of 136nm for exceptional performance, even for the most demanding tasks. Its brushless motor delivers improved efficiency and longer run times for each battery charge. The DA001G features a variable speed trigger, torque limiter to prevent injury and twin LED job lights for better visibility of the workpiece. It also benefits from our innovative Automatic Torque Drive Technology, which automatically adjusts the output according to the load conditions.

 

Circular saw

From cutting studwork sections to size, cutting floors and trimming worktops, a high-quality circular saw is a useful tool to have to hand on any job. Compatible with a guide rail, the powerful HS004G XGT 40VMax 190mm Circular Saw is designed for fast, precision cutting and a performance to match the equivalent corded alternatives. It has a no-load speed of 6,000 rpm and can produce bevel cuts of up 45°. It has a maximum cutting capacity of 60mm at 0° and 43mm at 45°.

 

To make dust extraction as simple as possible and ensure user safety, the HS004G features our Auto-Start Wireless System (AWS), which connects to compatible dust extractors via Bluetooth to run the dust extractor automatically when the tool is in use. It also has Automatic Torque Drive Technology, which automatically changes the cutting speed according to load conditions for optimum performance.

 

Work Lights

Having the right levels of illumination at all times not only makes work easier, but also safer. Utilising the same 40VMax XGT battery platform, the ML002G LED Flashlight provides three lighting modes: 360° and 180° work light settings and the more directed flashlight mode. It features our eXtreme Protection Technology (XPT) that provides high dust and water resistance, making it ideal for plumbing jobs. The compact but powerful light weighs just 1.5kg with a 4.0Ah battery attached and includes a hanging hook to allow it to be suspended in a convenient location. Another solution within the 40VMax XGT platform is the ML001G LED flashlight, which provides a sharp round spotlight for directed illumination and has a pivoting head that allows 170° of vertical adjustment in 12 steps. Using a 4.0Ah battery, the ML001G boasts a runtime of up to 55 hours.
