Running for a minimum of a day, depending on the amount and kind of tools covered, our courses examine important details such as health and safety, risk assessment, arm vibration syndrome (the cause of and symptoms) and the sage operation and use of portable, electric power tools.

 

 

 

 

CORRECT AND SAFE USE FOR HANDHELD POWER TOOLS

A city and guilds accredited course covering hazards arising form use, precautions to be observed, correct and safe use. (excluding chainsaws). 1 day course costed at £154 + VAT.

 

CORRECT AND SAFE USE FOR HANDHELD POWER TOOLS INSTRUCTORS COURSE 

The course is aimed for the candidate to deliver and run a user course on power tools. On successfully completing the course the candidate will be issued with a City & Guilds accredited user certificate and a Makita instructor certificate. 2 day instructor course costed at £385 + VAT

 

CONTENTS 

Choose between AC/DC power tools, air tools or gas nailers.

All courses cover the 5 points below.

- Health and safety requirements.
- Risk.
- Hand-arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS).
- P.P.E.
- Safe operation of hand operated power tools.

ABRASIVE WHEEL TRAINING

These courses are designed for all Makita customers and end users to ensure compliance with the training regulations for abrasive wheels in Provisions and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (1998). 1/2 day in-house or 1/2 day on-site costed at £55 + VAT.

 

ABRASIVE WHEEL TRAINING INSTRUCTORS COURSE

This course is to train your safety/training officers or technical staff to conduct their own courses and certificate their own employees and customers. 2 days costed at £275 + VAT.

 

CONTENTS

- Fitting of abrasive wheels types 1, 27, 41, 42 to machines.
- Understanding the label, storage, handling and transportation.

 

INSTRUCTORS COURSE

1-DAY PRODUCT COURSE 

This course is a must for any personnel in your organisation committed to selling Makita power tools. This 1 day course can be tailored to your companies requirements.

CHAINSAW MAINTENANCE AND CROSS CUTTING

This user course will cover preventative maintenance that is carried out daily or at regular intervals by the operator.

 

CONTENTS

- Preventative maintenance and daily checks.
- Cutting timber under tension and compression.
- Cutting timber into manageable sections or to a given length.
- Two day course UK Rural Skills certificate.
